Anthropic launched a new Mods system for Claude Code that allows developers to alter the interface and functionality of the AI coding assistant from the inside.
Product
Claude Code is an artificial intelligence coding tool developed by Anthropic that assists developers with programming tasks. The tool currently supports various advanced features, including a recently released Mods system that acts as internal middleware. This new system allows developers to write JavaScript or TypeScript functions to alter prompts, tool calls, and user interface rendering, which enables deep customization of the tool from the inside. The first official plugin for this system, You Should Know, launches a separate agent to monitor the artificial intelligence output. In addition to these customization options, Anthropic offers up to 250 dollars in free Claude Code Cloud Session Credits to users. The platform also features Claude Code Projects, which allows developers to run parallel sessions and utilize multiple artificial intelligence agents simultaneously. Furthermore, Claude Code includes support for the OpenAI AGENTS.md standard. These developments follow earlier adjustments to the service, which included a 17 percent reduction in weekly usage limits.
