Anthropic is permanently increasing standard weekly usage limits for Claude Code by 25 percent. The change applies to Pro, Max, Team, and seat-based Enterprise plans. However, the update actually results in a reduction for active users.
Claude Code currently operates with a temporary 50 percent increase in weekly limits. That temporary boost stays in place until September 14. Anthropic confirmed the schedule on X.
Starting September 14, the company will permanently raise standard weekly limits in Claude Code by 25 percent for Pro, Max, Team, and seat-based Enterprise plans. Until then, the current 50 percent increase remains active.
The mathematical adjustment means customers face a downgrade from their current capacity. If a baseline allowance was 100, the temporary boost brings it to 150. The new permanent limit drops that figure to 125.
This structure provides 25 percent more usage than the original baseline before the promotion. Yet, it amounts to about 17 percent less than the limits users currently possess.
Anthropic deleted its initial thread and published a clarification admitting the drop. Compared to today, the update works out to a 17 percent reduction in weekly limits on Claude Code.
The company also noted it is working on changes to improve usage visibility and control. Anthropic stated it cannot wait to share those updates.
Claude usage varies based on conversation length, model choice, tool usage, and effort level. Because of these variables, weekly allowances do not translate into a fixed number of prompts.
The current 50 percent temporary increase remains available through September 13. The new permanent limits take effect on September 14.
