Salesforce has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Loops, an AI analytics platform, and plans to bring its technology into Tableau after the deal closes. Salesforce says the acquisition will help customers understand changes in business performance and decide what to do next.
According to Salesforce, Loops continuously monitors business performance using machine learning models. It identifies changes in key metrics, explains what is driving them and surfaces opportunities to improve results.
Salesforce says Loops can be triggered from Slack and email to monitor key performance indicators. Its capabilities include spotting trends and unusual changes, then bringing the likely drivers to users’ attention. Salesforce describes this as part of its plan to help customers act on analytics within their existing work.
Salesforce plans to bring Loops into Tableau
The company plans to bring both Loops’s technology and its specialist team into Tableau following the transaction. Salesforce says the addition is intended to help Tableau customers identify what affects performance and prioritize actions.

Mark Recher, Tableau’s executive vice president and general manager, said the company looks forward to bringing Loops’s capabilities to Tableau after closing. Loops chief executive and co-founder Tom Laufer said the companies share an interest in analytics that helps businesses understand results and choose what to do next.
The deal is expected to close in early November
The transaction is expected to close in early November of Salesforce’s fiscal year 2027, subject to customary closing conditions.
