Why it matters

Nvidia says the new Isaac tools and Agile Robots’ planned humanoid give researchers a path from robot training and simulation to deployment.

The facts

  • Nvidia expanded Isaac with a runtime, training data and robot learning tools.
  • Isaac Lab 3.0 is now generally available, Nvidia says.
  • Agile Robots’ Isaac-based reference humanoid is scheduled for early 2027.

Nvidia has expanded its Isaac robotics platform with a runtime, training data and an updated robot learning framework. Agile Robots also unveiled Agile ONE SN, a reference humanoid built with Nvidia technology for researchers and developers. The robot is scheduled to be available in early 2027.

Agile ONE SN uses Nvidia’s Isaac GR00T platform for robot models and development workflows, with Jetson Thor computing onboard. It stands 1.40 meters tall, weighs 40 kilograms and can carry 3 kilograms per arm. Its two five-finger hands have tactile sensing and 20 degrees of freedom each. Agile Robots says bringing simulation, training and deployment tools into one platform can cut setup time from weeks to days. Integration with Nvidia’s Halos safety system is planned.

Isaac Lab 3.0 supports robot training

Nvidia says Isaac Lab 3.0 is now generally available. The open source framework lets developers train and refine robot control policies across desktop and data center systems. It supports multiple GPUs and physics engines including Newton and Nvidia PhysX.

The company also introduced Isaac OS, an open source runtime designed to connect AI, sensors, controls and robot hardware. Nvidia says it is releasing three open source reference workflows for DGX Station. They cover refining GR00T 1.7 models, training manipulation skills in Isaac Lab and using ChatGPT Astra to post-train Cosmos models that generate synthetic data.

Nvidia says its SimReady Central Library contains more than 2,000 assets for robotics and factory simulations. The library and its Human 1M Dataset are available on Hugging Face, though access to the full Human 1M Dataset is limited to Cosmos Coalition partners.

Robotics companies apply the tools

Nvidia named several European companies using parts of its robotics platform. ABB Robotics is integrating Omniverse libraries with RobotStudio HyperReality to simulate systems before installation. Sereact is using GR00T and Cosmos Transfer to train its Cortex goods-handling platform, which runs on Universal Robots arms.

For developers seeking a complete humanoid research system, the next stated availability date is early 2027, when Agile ONE SN is scheduled to arrive.
