OpenAI revealed a wave of ChatGPT updates at DevDay. The announcements include an open plugin system, shared workspaces, automated workflows, Slack and Teams integrations, new pricing tiers, and an enterprise marketplace.
OpenAI is handing outside developers the same tools it uses internally to build ChatGPT features. The company also added shared workspaces, automated workflows, and a marketplace for enterprise customers. These additions push ChatGPT beyond simple chat and place OpenAI in competition with Slack, Notion, and Google Workspace, and eventually Microsoft Office or Windows.
Plugin Extensions offer interactive developer panels
The biggest developer change is Plugin Extensions. They let developers build interactive panels inside ChatGPT where users can work alongside a conversation and create viewers for file types their plugins support. OpenAI states a new Plugin Creator makes building easier, supported by a revamped submission process with clearer feedback and improved directory ranking. Users select which plugins to install and approve their access across every ChatGPT plan.
Supported plugins can also be embedded in user-created Sites, where team members share the same app and permissions. Through shareable profiles, users can showcase their Sites and plugins for others to find and reuse.
ChatGPT Space brings teams and AI together
ChatGPT Space is a shared workspace for teams, ChatGPT, and a new AI assistant named Dot. Members can drop in files, chats, and projects, while ChatGPT organizes the Space based on user instructions. Dot manages busywork, pulling context from shared materials to answer questions, surface relevant threads, and hand off tasks to other agents. The feature is available for Pro, Business, and Enterprise plans on desktop and web, with a mobile version planned later.
Alongside Space, OpenAI introduced Pages for collaboration between humans and AI agents. Users can write, research, generate diagrams, create images, or visualize data and invite team members to edit. Collaborative Slides will also roll out soon, letting team members and agents work on slide decks together.

ChatGPT is now available directly in Slack and Microsoft Teams through an @ChatGPT mention without requiring individual licenses. A new Meetings Plugin creates notes and summaries with action items in ChatGPT Space. OpenAI states audio data is deleted after the summary is generated. The plugin launches in beta on macOS for Pro and Business users.
OpenAI is also integrating the MCP Events Specification to let plugins trigger automations from connected apps. Business and Enterprise users can delegate recurring tasks like weekly project updates to Team Tasks.
OpenAI introduced the Pro 500 plan with the highest usage quota and access to Ultrafast in ChatGPT and Codex. A $200 subscription has also returned with a smaller API budget. With Sign in with ChatGPT, Plus and Pro users can spend their quota at 16 partner services. For Enterprise customers, the OpenAI Marketplace launches with 32 partners, letting companies direct spend toward approved partner software.
