Manus is expanding its AI agent into a full platform with the release of version 2.0. The update introduces tools for editing videos, hosting multiplayer games, and running personal agents equipped with their own phone numbers.
New harness improves efficiency
In one tested configuration, the new Cascade agent harness used 23.2 percent fewer tokens than the previous system. It also cost 32 percent less to run during testing.
Automations can now trigger automatically based on external events such as incoming emails or Slack messages. Through a feature called Computer Use, Manus interacts with approved files and applications on the user computer.
Desktop studio adds environments
Users can direct these operations remotely straight from their smartphones. The desktop application has been rebranded as Manus Studio and now includes two specific environments named Video Editor and Game Dev.
These environments allow users to manually adjust the output produced by the system. Dedicated cloud computers are used to keep game servers running continuously.
Cue app provides dedicated tools
A separate companion application named Cue equips each individual agent with its own unique email address, wallet, and computer. Manus 2.0 is currently available to users.
Meanwhile, the Cue application is operating in free early access that requires an invite code. Meta acquired Manus in late 2025 but had to unwind the transaction after Beijing blocked it.
Tencent has subsequently been negotiating to secure the largest stake in the startup. Meta is currently focusing development efforts on its own Muse agent, which similarly provides every user with a cloud computer.
