Nearly 20 U.S.-based AI startups have raised mega-rounds of $100 million or more in 2026, and it has been less than two months. U.S. AI startups raised more than $76 billion through mega-rounds in 2025. The 2026 pace suggests that number could be matched or exceeded.
The Biggest Rounds
Anthropic leads with a $30 billion Series G at $380 billion valuation. ElevenLabs raised $500 million at $11 billion. Runway pulled in $315 million at $5.3 billion for AI video. Temporal raised $300 million for AI agent reliability. Baseten closed $300 million at $5 billion for AI infrastructure.
The Newcomers
Some of the most striking rounds came from younger companies. Flapping Airplanes raised $180 million at seed stage. Inferact landed $150 million just months after founding. Goodfire hit $150 million Series B at $1.25 billion for interpretability. Fundamental raised $255 million Series A at $1.4 billion.
What It Means
Capital is flowing into every layer of the AI stack: foundation models, inference, agent reliability, voice, video, and medical AI. The question is no longer whether AI funding will sustain. It is whether the market can absorb this much capital productively.
