Why it matters

The massive $350 million funding round and $4 billion valuation highlight strong financial backing for vertical AI tools targeting complex industries like real estate and healthcare.

The facts

  • EliseAI raised $350 million in a funding round led by Andreessen Horowitz and Bessemer.
  • The new investment values the real estate and healthcare AI startup at $4 billion.
  • The company will use the capital to expand automation features and hire more staff.

EliseAI has secured $350 million in a new funding round. The startup builds artificial intelligence tools for healthcare providers and real-estate companies. Andreessen Horowitz and Bessemer jointly led the financing. Additional participants include Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, Sapphire Ventures, and Navitas Capital. The investment brings the company valuation to $4 billion.

The real estate platform automates housing operations

EliseAI launched in the year 2017 with an initial focus on the rental housing market. The company is officially known as Elise A.I. Technologies Corp. It offers a customer relationship management platform for property managers to store prospect data. The software extracts key information from interactions with existing residents. A marketing automation engine uses that data to tailor promotional materials for each sales lead.

A second real estate tool is the Maintenance App. This mobile client automatically routes property repair requests to technicians. The app selects the most suitable professional based on worker availability and required skill sets. A monitoring dashboard permits property managers to track repair progress.

The company expanded its real estate features earlier this month by introducing an AI assistant named Apollo. The assistant automates chores like sending follow-ups to leads who attended a property tour. Workers also use Apollo as an information retrieval tool to surface property management best practices. It retrieves data points such as the average cost of outstanding maintenance projects.

Healthcare tools manage patient communications

The platform supports the management of more than one in six U.S. apartments, according to company disclosures. Meanwhile, the startup healthcare platform is used by over 3,500 organizations. Customers range from small clinics to major hospitals.

EliseAI provides a medical chatbot capable of scheduling appointments and answering patient questions. The company states the software processes up to 95 percent of inbound inquiries. The system automates post-visit tasks such as sending prescription reminders.

The platform also performs back-office work for patient visits. It ingests patient documents and synchronizes key details with electronic health record systems. This capability reduces manual data entry, saves time, and lowers human error risks.

Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer Minna Song addressed the focus areas in a blog post. She wrote that these industries are the most complex, bespoke, entrenched, and hard, while also being the most important. She added that they will not absorb the technology without a tremendous act of building.

EliseAI will direct the new capital toward extending its automation features. The business also plans to hire more engineers, software deployment professionals, and salespeople.
