Anthropic is testing a new personal finance feature called Claude Money. The tool allows users to connect their bank accounts directly to the Claude assistant. The feature was spotted by TestingCatalog on the platform X.

A new Money section appeared within the Claude app for iOS. This section sits alongside Chats, Code, Artifacts, Dispatch, and Cowork. The page prompts users to understand their money with Claude.

Users can link bank accounts and ask Claude questions about spending and plans. A get started button appears on the page for account connection. The feature is not rolling out to most users yet.

References to Claude Money surfaced ahead of an official announcement. Specific details remain limited at this time. Supported banks and connection methods are not yet known.

It remains unclear if the feature will be restricted to the United States. OpenAI already offers a comparable feature named Finances in ChatGPT. That tool connects bank accounts, credit cards, brokerages, and other financial accounts via Plaid.

ChatGPT answers questions about spending, bills, subscriptions, savings, net worth, and investments. OpenAI states it does not train AI models on personal data. That feature currently supports over 12,000 financial institutions in the U.S.

Anthropic may implement a similarly limited rollout for Claude Money. Strict privacy laws in Europe could also restrict the feature's availability.

Anthropic will release further details about Claude Money following an official announcement.
