Anthropic has announced Claude Duet, an AI agent for professionals and small business owners. It is launching as a “research preview” in a standalone app for iOS and Android and through Claude on the web. It competes with Meta’s Muse and OpenAI’s Dots.

Claude Duet runs on Claude Opus 5.5. Anthropic says it can send a short morning brief about important items across connected apps. It can then monitor those apps during the day and message users when something needs their attention.

Duet can work across connected apps

Users can give Duet tasks ranging from scheduling meetings to building dashboards with dozens of tools. Anthropic also lists financial and sales forecasts, prototypes, and web apps among the work it can handle.

Duet draws on memory, skills, and connected apps from Claude. It also has a virtual machine with a browser for completing tasks. Before a major action, such as sending a payment or deleting something, it asks the user for approval.

Anthropic describes limits and safeguards

Because Duet may handle sensitive information, Anthropic says it has a dedicated classifier and safety system prompt designed to reject requests to share the strictest tier of information, including credit card numbers.

Anthropic calls Duet an “early version.” The company says it may misread a thread or judge urgency incorrectly. It also says Duet is less capable at personal errands such as booking tickets.

The next step for people who want to try Duet is to join the waitlist. Access requires a Pro or Max subscription in the US.
