Chirantan Desai will lead the new unit. He was previously the CEO of the database company MongoDB. He will report directly to Mark Zuckerberg.
Meta faces heavy enterprise competition
Zuckerberg states that Meta possesses strengths few other companies can match. These include advanced models, leading agents, and massive infrastructure. According to the Wall Street Journal, Meta is spending more than $100 billion on AI infrastructure this year alone. Investors want to see a return on this investment.
In the enterprise market, Meta is competing against coding tools like Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor. It also faces cheap Chinese open-weight models.
Meta has not yet announced exactly how the business will operate. The company has also not revealed what the services will cost.
