LinkedIn introduced a new button on July 30th labeled Seems like AI slop. Chief product officer Hari Srinivasan shared in a Thursday post that over a million people have clicked the button.

Users can access the tool through the three dots menu on any post. The feature rollout followed an analysis by AI detector Pangram indicating that 41 percent of longform posts on LinkedIn were fully generated by artificial intelligence, as reported by 404 Media.

Alongside this button, LinkedIn deployed improved classifiers to spot AI content. The platform also eliminated a feature designed to enhance posts using artificial intelligence.

Srinivasan stated that AI slop remains a top priority. Recent platform changes appear effective, with users experiencing 40 percent fewer views on content classified as AI slop compared to a few weeks prior.

LinkedIn is introducing another update. The platform will now display a message to authors stating that some members reported their post seems like AI.

Srinivasan noted the company approached the feature with assumed good intent. He added that the goal is to provide helpful feedback to users trying to avoid sounding like artificial intelligence.

Earlier this year, LinkedIn announced enforcement actions against comments generated at scale with minimal or no human involvement. The platform continues to monitor automated activity across its network.
