Big changes could be coming to the iPhone camera. The iOS 27 update may give users much more control over the Camera app. According to Mark Gurman at Bloomberg, the Camera app in iOS 27 will be "fully customizable."

Think of it like this: you'll be able to pick your own set of controls, or "widgets," that sit at the top of the screen. Gurman says the default widgets will still be there. But with iOS 27, you can switch to a more "advanced" set of options. Or, create your own custom setup.

How would this work? Reportedly, there will be a new "Add Widgets" tray. Widgets will be split into categories: basic, manual, and settings. Each camera mode will have its own set of widgets, too. This means you can tailor the controls to the specific type of photo or video you're taking.

Beyond camera tweaks, iOS 27 could bring other changes. Gurman mentions a new "Siri" mode for the Camera app. This would let you use Apple's visual intelligence features more easily. There could also be design changes in other apps. Siri, in particular, might be integrated into the Dynamic Island.

Apple's AI assistant may even get its own dedicated app. Plus, it could integrate with other AI models. The Image Playground app and Safari start page are also rumored to be getting a redesign. Even the Weather app might get a new "Conditions" section.

It sounds like Apple is focusing on personalization and AI with this update. Giving users more control over the Camera app is a welcome change. The rumored Siri improvements and app redesigns could make iOS even more user-friendly.

The iOS updates are always a big deal. People will want to see how these changes play out in practice. If the rumors are true, iOS 27 could be a significant step forward.
