The facts

  • Gamma Tech Inc. launched Gamma 5 to eliminate repetitive AI presentation layouts and visual sameness.
  • The updated platform integrates over 20 AI models and about 20 connectors for internal company tools and data.
  • Gamma reports users cut presentation creation time from eight to 10 hours down to about 30 minutes.

Gamma Tech Inc. introduced a rebuilt version of its presentation platform on October 6, 2026. The new release, called Gamma 5, aims to give presentations and other visual content more distinctive designs. It also connects the creation process to internal company information and tools.

Gamma 5 combines a redesigned editor, a more capable AI agent, and an expanded library of visual styles. The company stated this release addresses complaints that AI-generated presentations suffer from repetitive layouts, generic imagery, and predictable design choices.

Gamma co-founder and Chief Product Officer Jon Noronha stated the company has heard more complaints about sameness and what he called AI smell in presentations since early this year. He noted that users wish they could make AI-generated content where it is not clear they made it with AI.

Gamma expanded its visual template library

Gamma expanded its library to thousands of templates using a combination of human design and AI. The platform combines more than 20 AI models, including models from Anthropic PBC, OpenAI Group PBC, and Google LLC, alongside several image generators. The company selects these models through internal evaluations and user experiments.

Much of the rebuild reflects improvements in AI models since Gamma gained traction in 2023. Earlier versions restricted users to a limited set of design components. The new editor gives users greater freedom to create layouts and individual elements.

Noronha stated that agentic models have grown much more capable. Because of this advancement, Gamma can give them the full power to write custom code, draw shapes, and arrange elements on a canvas.

Connectors integrate external company data

The platform features around 20 connectors for bringing outside information into presentations. Supported sources include Slack from Salesforce Inc. and transcription services such as Granola from Granola Inc., Fireflies from Fireflies.ai Corp., and Fathom from Fathom Video Inc. These connectors apply existing user authorizations, and the agent can flag sensitive material for discussion.

Gamma 5 also supports importing PowerPoint presentations, PDFs, and other existing materials for editing. Noronha reported that an internal benchmark measuring the visual accuracy of imports improved from roughly 30 percent early in development to over 97 percent.

Founded in 2020, Gamma has recorded about 110 million sign-ups for its free version. Noronha declined to specify active user or subscriber counts. The company has raised $90 million in venture financing from investors that include Andreessen Horowitz LLC and Accel Partners LP.

Noronha shared that the company roadmap includes more graphic design and video generation. The plans also feature workflows that automatically update sales presentations when new customer information arrives through connected business applications.
